Refund Policy

1. How Our Ordering Works
Dolce By Jery operates on an approval-based model. No payment is collected when you submit an order request. Once we review your request and confirm we can fulfill it, we send you a Stripe invoice via email. Your order is only confirmed when you pay that invoice. If we decline your request, no charges are ever made.
2. No Refund Once Preparation Has Begun
Because our cakes are custom-made and perishable, all sales are final once preparation has begun. After payment is received and we begin preparing your order, we are unable to offer a refund. This applies to the base cake price and any custom design charges included in your invoice.
3. Cancellations
- More than 7 days before pickup: A full refund will be issued, minus any non-recoverable ingredient or supply costs already incurred. Please contact us as soon as possible at orders@dolcebyjery.com.
- Less than 7 days before pickup: Refunds are not available, as ingredients and preparation will already be underway. We will assess extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
- Cancellation by Dolce By Jery: In the unlikely event we must cancel your confirmed order, you will receive a full refund and prompt notification.
4. Custom Design Charges
Your final invoice will include both the base cake price and any custom design charges agreed upon during the review process. Once paid, these charges are non-refundable after preparation has begun. Any design charges are communicated and confirmed before the invoice is issued — you will never be charged for a design you have not approved.
5. Missed Pickups
- All orders are pickup only in NW Washington, DC.
- Cakes are baked fresh for your scheduled pickup date and time.
- We do not offer refunds for missed or late pickups. If you are unable to pick up on your scheduled date, contact us immediately — we cannot guarantee the cake's quality beyond the scheduled pickup window.
- Unclaimed orders will not be eligible for refund after 24 hours past the agreed pickup time.
6. Quality Concerns
Customers are responsible for inspecting their order at the time of pickup. If you have a concern about the condition or quality of your cake, please raise it immediately at pickup. We are unable to address quality concerns after the product has left our premises.
7. Order Changes
If you need to change your order (flavor, size, pickup date), please contact us as soon as possible. Changes may be accommodated at our discretion but cannot be guaranteed once preparation has begun. Changes that affect pricing will result in a revised invoice.
